- Logging contractors’ capital investment of $1.6 billion helps generate annual income of $2.8 billion.
- The 5,000 loads of wood they move each day helps ensure there is always a steady supply of wood for the 850 forestry companies in Alabama (1, 2)
- Almost 2,000 individuals have been trained to the Professional Logging Manager (PLM) standard.
- Log truck drivers participate in safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance workshops to stay current with those two aspects of transportation.
- Alabama loggers have helped raise more than $5.5 million for the Children’s Hospitals in Alabama through the Log a Load for Kids program.
